Behavioral and (or) Emotional Disorders group

LĮŠC’s Behavioral and (or) Emotional Disorders group performs the following functions:

  • Provides informational, expert, consulting, methodological assistance to educators, parents (guardians, caregivers), educational support specialists, educational assistance specialists of pedagogical psychological services and regional special education centersabout the questions of inclusive education of children with behavioral and / or emotional disorders; 
  • Develops, prepares and (or) adapts methodologies and instruments for children with behavioral and (or) emotional disorders; 
  • Analyzes and systematizes information about innovations in inclusive education of children of Lithuania and other countries with behavioral and (or) emotional disorders, tests them, adapts them and organizes their dissemination in the country’s schools; 
  • Implements advanced educational assistance and inclusive education practices based on the best practices of foreign countries in schools which work with children with behavioral and /or emotional disorders; 
  • Prepares methodological materials and recommendations and organizes their dissemination to school psychologists, special educators, speech therapists, social educators and student assistants; 
  • Initiates and carries out monitoring of the provision of special teaching aids to children with behavioral and(or) emotional disorders and develops recommendations on the use of these tools in the process of educational and provisional assistance; 
  • Participates in the processes of ensuring the quality of the teacher’s professional development system, prepares and implements competence improvement measures, programs, projects and initiates innovations in this field; 
  • Participates in the preparation of draft legislation related to the educational aid projects of children with behavioral and(or) emotional;
  • Represents in international organizations, participates in the activities of international organizations, collects and shares information about the advanced innovations and practices of inclusion in education implemented around the world.
